It's been a bit of time since I did a Marty Bell. I love the designs: old English cottages. I just framed an oval and have now started another. This one is very pretty and, as I understand, is the front view of another of her ovals called "Murle Cottage". I'm going to order it because I think they would be a great pair.
I'm doing it on 14 ct. antique ivory aida. I'm enjoying working on it because it is so simple stitching on it versus fighting linen. The DMC threads are a welcome change from overdyes.
I'm going to enjoy doing this one!

Marian, I did Chaplain's Garden as my first cross stitch piece ever! I couldn't help myself, I am a cottage fanatic, I have fantasies of living in Bluebell Cottage in Kew Gardens. I have also done Murrel cottage and it is a nice companion piece. You will love stitching this one.
I love those cottages! Have fun stitching it....can't wait to see it in progress!
That'll be beautiful when it's finished, Marian!
What a lovely project to be starting
This will be beautiful. Keep us posted on your progress - looking forward to watching it grow!
