Occasionally, when not stitching, I find my way into the kitchen. I DO love to cook, especially baking. So from time to time I'm going to add a recipe. And I'm going to try to stay organized!
APPETIZERS
LAKE CHARLES DIP
(Lake Charles is a city in Louisiana)
1/2 pt. sour cream
1 pkg. Good Seasons Italian dressing mix
1/2 avocado, finely chopped
1 T. mayonnaise
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1/2 chopped tomato
Dash Tabasco
Mix all ingredients and chill until serving. Serve with vegetables ( I do) or chips. I sometimes double this.
SAUSAGE-APPLE BALLS
1 lb. bulk pork sausage
2 C. biscuit mix
1 C. raisins, chopped
1 C. grated, unpeeled apples
1/2 tsp. apple pie spice
Preheat oven to 350. Combine all ingredients. Shape into 1-inch balls. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 20 minutes or until brown. Makes 4 1/2 dozen.
