IT'S FINISHED. I LOVE IT!

After two years in storage, I pulled out Ellen Chester's/ With My Needle's "Fair Maiden's Etui" and finished it. I don't know why I waited so long. It actually took longer to put it together than to stitch it, but it was worth it. The only thing I really changed was the verse on the bottom. I wanted to include a verse of scripture, my initials and the date.

Putting it together wasn't nearly as difficult as I thought. I did have trouble using a curved needle, so I ended up taking the bottom apart and attaching the scissors keep to the lining and then re-sewing them together.

I wouldn't change anything else-----except the pink bows. I'm not a "bow" person, but I admit they add a little something to the etui. The pearl ruler weights it's side a bit. Nah, I wouldn't change anything.

Oh Marian, I have to make a confession. That is beautiful, first of all. Now, I have been doing crossword puzzles for over 50 years. For years I have been using the word 'etui' for a needle case for years. Never new what one looked like or anything about one. Now, thanks to you, when I put 'etui' into the puzzle I know exactly what I am talking about. How wonderful. I love to learn something new and see beautiful things too. blessings

It is very beautiful! I like the changes you made; that verse is perfect for it! I thank Queenmothermamaw for answering the question I had - what is it? ;-)

Hi Marian,

Your etui looks great!! Pat yourself on the the back and take a bow! I'm looking forward to featuring your etui on my blog next week.

If this makes you feel any better, let me know. You couldn't have had it in "storage" for two years as the chart was released just 11 months ago.

Fantastic! You did a great job with it. I don't think I have this one so now I am going to have to add to my WMN collection.
